COVID-19 Updates: Miami's response to the coronavirus pandemic and CDC's coronavirus health and safety guidelines.
Jan. 24 to Jan. 25, 2023
Miami is monitoring the approaching winter weather for tonight (Jan. 24) into Wednesday morning (Jan. 25) in our area. While there is still some uncertainty with the forecasted snow amounts and exact conditions, Miami campuses will remain open, however classes before 10 a.m. are canceled. Classes at 10 a.m. or after will begin on time.
Essential personnel are to report on time.
For the classes scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. or later on Wednesday, faculty members may choose to offer these classes virtually. Students should monitor Miami’s learning management system, Canvas, as well as emails from faculty about potential changes to their Wednesday courses.
While the university plans to be open on Wednesday, we strongly encourage all administrators to work with their employees to shift to remote work wherever possible while making sure offices are staffed for walk-ins beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Be sure to communicate clearly to all employees who are currently scheduled to work on Wednesday what their expectations are for work that day. We hope that this advance notice will provide colleagues across the university the flexibility needed to prioritize both needed services and employee safety.
