1813 - A.B., Jefferson College; Studied theology with Rev. J. M. Mason, New York.
1816 (September 11) - Licensed by Associate Presbytery of Monongahela.
1818 (June 29) - Ordained by Presbytery of Philadelphia.
1819-22 - Pastor of the Associated Reformed Church, Milton, Pennsylvania.
1822 - Entered the Presbyterian Church.
1822-30 - Continued as Pastor at Milton, Pennsylvania.
1830-32 - In charge of a manual labor institution, Germantown, Pennsylvania.
1832-41 - President of Lafayette College, Easton, Pennsylvania.
1841-44 - President of Miami University, Oxford, Ohio.
1844 - Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church
1844-48 - President of Lafayette College, Easton, Pennsylvania.
1848-60 - President Washington college, Lexington, Va.
1868 (May 20) - Died, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
