1802 (January 19) - Born, Orange County, North Carolina.
1824 (October 1824) - Studied theology with Dr. Gideon Blackburn and was licensed to preach by the Presbytery of West Tennessee.
1824-26 - Evangelist in West Tennessee.
1826-30 - Pastor, Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
1830-40 - Pastor, Gallatin, Tennessee.
1837-40 - Organized and acted as President of a Female Seminary at Gallatin.
1840-52 - Pastor, Dayton, Ohio.
1852-54 - Pastor, Huntsville, Alabama.
1854-66 - President, Miami University.
1866-76 - Superintendent of Public Schools, Covington, Kentucky.
1886 (January 6) - Died, Covington, Kentucky.
